Beyond Chaos – A DiceRPG

[1462] – Y06.362 – The Future of the United Kindom VII

“You are starting a fight with me now!” Jirot accused, a dagger like finger pointed directly towards her father, a finger that could cut deeper into Adam than any blade of steel, magical or mundane. The girl’s eyes were clear, her furrowed brows pursed sharply.

“Dear, I’m sorry, it’s just I have to finish all this work in order to go see the Amira, that way I can play with you all Twilight long!”

Jirot puffed out her cheeks, clenching her fists on either side of her. The girl turned around, turning her head further away from her father.

“Dear…” Adam swallowed. ‘I shouldn’t have taken that one day off…’

Jirot huffed once more, though caught her mother’s eyes. The girl pouted further, looking down at the floor, considering her mother’s words and expression. She narrowed her eyes and turned, glancing aside towards her father. “Dahddy.”

“Yes, my dear?”

“You must tell the Amira to come here since she is taking my Dahddy away,” the girl said, pointing to the floor, as though punctuating her point. “The audacity.”

“Oh?” Adam mused, considering his daughter’s words. It was something he hadn’t considered, though to move an Amira at his will, that was something he wouldn’t be able to do. However, since Jirot had asked him to…

Mana: 34 -> 31

Spell: Sending

“Greetings, Amira. We have completed many spears. My children wish to meet you, but are apprehensive. May you journey here instead, please?”

‘Greetings, Mo Adam. I am uncertain of such a request. The lands are dangerous, and full of wickedness.’

Adam expected as much as a response, for she was an Amira, and it wasn’t as though they were that close to one another. She had, however, previously shown quite some interest within their business, and from what he gathered, wished for good relations. However, was that enough to get an Amira to move?

Mana: 31 -> 28

Spell: Sending

“Would you be willing to meet us at Arisa? We could escort you to the Iyr and discuss more business.”

Amira considered the half elf’s words, finding it awkward he was messaging her personally, since he wasn’t so easy to offend. She weighed the benefits within her mind, considering who he was, what he was, where he was. If he had sent a second message, it meant it was quite important to him.

She remembered his epithet.

‘Such an offer sounds agreeable. When do you wish to rendezvous?’

‘Did she just say rendezvous?’ Adam thought.

The Amira waited a long while for the half elf’s response, only then realising he may not have the spell available further that day. Much later, she heard a different voice enter her mind.

“Please, Aunt! Please!” Adam begged. “If you can convince the Chief…”

Sonarot waited, noting how the half elf was considering who may have been a more important figure to convince.

“If you can convince the children…”

“I will convince Jirot and Jarot,” Sonarot assured, placing a hand upon his shoulder, squeezing it tenderly. “It will be good for them to visit Arisa.”

“Thank you, Aunt.” Adam inhaled sharply, smelling the gentle floral scent of the woman, which had caused his heart to ease.

Sonarot considered how she should speak with the twins, who were enjoying bullying their babo so viciously that day. Their father was off to work, and since he was working on a day he should have been playing with the children, his daughter was far more wicked that day.

“That is right!” old Jarot exclaimed. “This greatfather of yours, his arm is open for you! That father of yours, he is so…”

“Dahddy is such a silly boy…” Jirot grumbled.

“So silly,” little Jarot confirmed.

“Jirot, Jarot,” Sonarot called, causing the girl’s head to snap her way, her amber eyes glistening with shock, thinking she was in trouble, but seeing the woman’s warm smile, she led her brother forward.

“Nana,” Jirot called, reaching out to hold the woman’s rough hand, little Jarot reaching for the other.

Sonarot smiled, lifting the pair up within her arms, then glanced down towards the girl and boy who also wished to be within their grandmother’s arms. “Virot, Damrot, I must speak with your kaka and papa.”

“No!” Virot snapped at her grandmother, though she quickly fled away, cackling wildly, Damrot following after her. Virot hid behind her babo, cackling wildly, for she had bullied her grandmother so well.

Sonarot smiled, carrying the twins out of the estate, holding the pair to her bosom. “When you were so small, you would cling to me so eagerly.”

“Of coas, nana, since you are our nana,” Jirot said, resting her head upon the woman’s shoulder.

Sonarot held the pair within her arms, reminiscing of the old days. She smiled. “We knew you were trouble immediately, Jirot, because even when you were a babe, you would bully your father. You would glare at your father, and as he held you, you would soil yourself.”

Jirot flushed, shaking her head, furrowing her brows. “I do not, nana, I do not!”

“This was when you were so small, you could not talk, you could not walk, but you could bully.”

Jirot reached up to her warm face, hiding it away from her grandmother, who kissed her cheek.

“Jarot, you listened so well, and you were so meek, even as a babe.”

Jarot bit his lower lip bashfully, puckering his lips slightly, as though to refuse, but he was such a good little boy, so everyone said.

“There was some trouble from our family too, but no one can deny, you are Ji and Ja, of the Rot family. You are Iyrmen, that much is true, for we have spilled enough blood to make it true.”

“Yes…” Jirot said, hiding within her grandmother’s warm neck, the woman pulling her in closer.

“It is time for an Outing,” Sonarot said, causing the girl to pull back from her, her amber eyes wide. “We will go to Arisa, the capital of Northern Aswadasad.”

“No!” Jirot gasped, shaking her head. “I stay here, nana! I stay home! Jarot stay home too!”

As the girl spluttered, still shaking her head, the woman smiled sadly. “We will call for Great Urkina.”

Jirot gasped again, freezing in place, turning her head slightly, side eyeing her grandmother curiously. The girl’s brows shot up, certain she had heard the name of such a legendary figure.

“I will speak with the Chief, and your nanos and babos, who will assist in the Outing, and we will go, with Great Urkina’s assistance, and if we do not acquire her assistance, then we will remain, yes?”

“Huu…” Jirot sniffled, hugging her grandmother’s neck.

“We can leave next year, if you so wish, my Jirot, my Jarot,” Sonarot said, feeling how tight Jarot’s grip upon her collar had become.

“Next year? Not now? Okay, nana, okay. Next year…”

As they returned, the Iyrmen noticed how the twins sucked their thumbs, causing the old Jarot to glance away a moment, tensing, before accepting the twins, who wished to cuddle up to their babo. Gangak also sat nearby, reaching out to play with their hair, feeding them small sweets. Sonarot would speak to them soon of the matter.

Adam returned later, shooting a look to Vonda first, greeting his wife with a kiss on her cheek, his children in a similar manner, then caught Sonarot’s gaze.

“Though I am eager to kill, it is difficult to see the tears of my grandchildren,” the woman admitted, having explained to Adam the deal she had made.

“That’s fine by me,” Adam replied, since it was probably much more than he could do. “Thank you, Aunt.”

The woman held his hand, squeezing it gently, understanding it was he who carried a greater burden on his shoulders. It was a burden she had considered along with the half elf’s elders, for as she informed them of the matter, she also mentioned her greatest worry, which was Adam’s fractured heart, and how much death could potentially arrive on the horizon.

“We’ll take some of the weapons this time and then next year we’ll take the rest…” Adam half mused aloud, letting out a soft sigh. He eventually approached Dunes to speak to the Aswadian of the matter, informing him of what had happened.

“You had the Amira wait this entire day?” Dunes asked.

Adam blinked. “Oh. Whoops. My bad. Apologise to her for me, will you?”

Dunes reached up to his forehead, rubbing it. The young man cast the spell to speak with the Amira, understanding it was fine if Adam had spoken to her already.

The Amira considered Dunes’ words. She wanted to meet the children, but she supposed it was fine enough to show the business some face by personally arriving within Arisa to collect the weapons, but she could use it as an opportunity to impose upon the Faro.

Later that night, the twins retired with their babo and nano to sleep, while their father cuddled the triplets, whom pinned him under them. However, the Mad Dog and the Crazy Father did not sleep easy, for it was a day in which a particular pair caused such trouble, but they could not consider this trouble as the children’s, but the world’s.

Bael remained in slumber, the half dragon, who was certainly a dragon in disguise. He didn’t have much time to regain his strength, for he would soon leave, he knew it in his heart. He opened his eyes, considering the whimpering of the children he had heard, having focused his hearing upon their voices.

‘How old are they? Five? That is too young…’
