Chapter 2512 - 687: Returning to Xuandu City, Humbled at Her Own Company (Part 4)
The Sky Devil Sword has appeared again; surely something significant will happen!
Gu Yelin stood beside An Yiqing, his gaze fixed intently on the totem on the Sky Devil Sword, "That day, I underwent the Nine Heavens Tribulation. When the Sky Devil Sword appeared, the Sky Devil Technique also emerged. This cultivation technique is known only to me."
An Yiqing was stunned, "Is that really so?"
"Tutu, the power of the Sky Devil Technique is overwhelmingly domineering. For over a year, I’ve been cultivating using this technique and have made rapid progress."
"Are there any side effects?" An Yiqing frowned.
Gu Yelin chuckled lightly and shook his head. "The God-Devil Physique is an existence beyond the Six Realms, whether it’s talent or intellect, it’s almost monstrous. The Heavenly Dao can’t suppress it, which is why it seeks to incite everyone against it. But despite all its calculations, it didn’t anticipate that I would break through the void to divinity so quickly, nor that I would acquire the Sky Devil Sword and technique. Now, Ancestor Hongjun can’t directly come to this plane; even his avatar is no threat to me anymore. Hopefully, in a year and a half, I can break through to the Saint Stage, reach his plane, drag him back here, and have a good discussion on the issues of the Heavenly Dao."
An Yiqing burst into laughter, nudging her head against the man’s chest, "Alright, I’ll wait for you to bring him back, and we’ll give him a thousand thrashings together."
Gu Yelin put away the Sky Devil Sword, embracing An Yiqing with a smile blooming like flowers. He rested his chin softly on her head and heaved a deep sigh, "Whatever the future holds, when you die, I die. When you live, I live. Tutu, don’t worry about anything; I’ll handle everything."
An Yiqing smiled, nestling in his chest and nodding softly, "Alright, we’ll face it together."
A gentle breeze blew, the rustling of the trees whispered in the wind. In the ancient corridor, nestled within the endless mountains, a man and a woman embraced each other, whispering tender words from the depths of their hearts.
...
A few days later, An Yiqing returned to Xuandu City with the An Family. Gu Yelin had arranged for a few people to specifically look after the An Family Villa in the Valley of Gods, putting An Yiqing’s mind at ease.
Xuandu City appeared unchanged. However, numerous old structures were taken down, and brand-new buildings rose from the ground, endowing this city filled with ancient charm with a touch of modern atmosphere.
At the An Family Villa, Aunt Li had returned a few days earlier, meticulously cleaning the place. When An Yiqing returned with the An Family, and saw the familiar courtyard and interior arrangements, a sense of the passage of time washed over her.
Little Bun leaned against his great-grandfather, curiously looking around. He had stayed in the White Tiger Clan’s cave and lived in a richly traditional mansion, yet he had never seen such a beautifully styled modern villa. At first glance, he was captivated.
Old Master An, holding Little Bun, cheerfully led a tour of the villa from inside out. He also promised to take Little Bun out to experience modern life in a few days.
Little Bun’s eyes smiled into crescents, resembling An Yiqing’s cheerful smile.
An Yiqing, with minimal luggage, went back to the small villa, took a bath, changed clothes, and then drove to the Xuanjin Yulong Headquarters.
At the Xuanjin Yulong Headquarters, the ground floor lobby was bustling. Some were busy staff members, while others were executives from other companies there for cooperative talks. An Yiqing hadn’t informed Zhang Yuksheng of her arrival. Wearing a simple white long dress, she calmly walked towards the reception desk.
"Hello, I’m here to see Zhang Yuksheng."
Zhang Xue, sitting at the front desk and engrossed in her phone, frowned and cursed inwardly. She was right in a crucial part of her novel when interrupted, filling her with annoyance.
Raising her head with displeasure, Zhang Xue saw the white-clad woman standing in front of her. She raised her brow in scrutiny, giving her a once-over, noting her plain attire without even a badge.
With a sneer in her mind, Zhang Xue opened her messaging app, starting a conversation with her friend.
An Yiqing furrowed her brow and tapped the desk, raising her voice, "Could you please help me find Zhang Yuksheng."
Zhang Xue put down her phone, not bothering to stand up, lazily leaning back in her chair, "Do you have an appointment?"
"No, I’m a friend of his. Could you kindly inform him, my last name is An."
Zhang Xue chuckled, her gaze critical as she took another look at An Yiqing, pegging her as someone trying to climb the social ladder flippantly.
"Miss, do you think you can see President Zhang so simply? No appointment? Not happening!" She emphasized the word ’Miss,’ her gaze hostile toward An Yiqing.
An Yiqing’s expression suddenly darkened, "Whether President Zhang sees me or not, is his choice. I only need you to notify him; is that really too much to ask?"
