"Honey, how are you feeling today? Are you uncomfortable in any way?" An Zisheng took the soup bowl, drank it all at once, and asked with concern.
"I’m okay, dear. Has there been any news about Zhihang? I’m really worried about him." These past few days, Kong Shi had called An Zhihang several times with no one picking up, which made her anxiety grow.
"Don’t worry, he got in touch with me today. There’s been some unrest in the Beiyan Continent, so the signals were bad, and that’s why we lost contact. He’s fine now, in the company, and said he’ll come back after sorting things out." There was a flicker in the depths of An Zisheng’s eyes before he reassured his wife with a smile.
"That’s a relief. It’s too chaotic over there in Beiyan Continent; tell him to come back as soon as possible. Business losses don’t matter; safety is the most important," Kong Shi said, relieved by her husband’s words yet anxious for An Zisheng to convey her message.
"Alright, I’ll find a chance to tell him, don’t you worry," An Zisheng nodded, eating his meal with his gaze lowered, keeping his emotions hidden in his eyes.
After dinner, as usual, An Zisheng accompanied Kong Shi for a walk around the yard before taking her upstairs.
"Zisheng, come to the study later; I have something to ask you," the Elder An casually said while sitting on the sofa as if it were not a matter of great importance.
