Chapter 607. Magical
Louis paused for a second as he thought about what she asked. "I would have smelled the blood and woken up," he said.
"What are the chances of that?" She asked. "You were what, four? Three? If you didn’t wake up until they came to get you, I doubt blood would have woken you up. That would also explain why you don’t remember because you didn’t actually see it."
It wasn’t that she disagreed with him; she knew firsthand just how sensitive vampires’ senses were. Jael could hear her breathing change while he was fast asleep. However, she didn’t think it was the same for a pretty young child. Maybe it was, and she was wrong, but it was definitely an angle to consider.
Louis blinked at her. "But that doesn’t explain every other thing," he replied.
"True, but it certainly answers the question of why you can’t remember, and I am sure that helps."
Louis paused again. Mauve couldn’t tell if he agreed with her or if he was thinking of reasons to disagree with her.
After a few seconds of him not saying anything, she added, "Don’t tell me you have never thought about it."
"Not that. I was pretty young at the time. I couldn’t exactly discuss it, and I guess by the time I could, too much time had passed. It also didn’t help that all the memories I had from the incident were things I picked up from what the adults discussed."
Mauve nodded her agreement. "I am also sure they tried to keep as much as possible from you."
