A Million Beginnings, One Quiet Ending

Chapter 13: Death

ASHER BLACKWOOD

I kept on attacking with my body clad in flames, Voriath’s body was much more durable after he had let out that surge of mana which seemed to have been an increase in power.

I attacked again, with more precision this time. The ripples and distortions becoming more evident if they hadn’t been before.

"This is bad." I muttered to myself as I kept on matching his attacks pound for pound. The intensity of our attacks were of universal proportion.

"Can’t you see human?" Voriath said. "This is a battle you can’t win."

My eyes shone brightly as I released my aura in such a way that it expanded like a balloon.

Voriath stopped moving, more like he couldn’t move. I stopped time within the space I had created and moved towards him nonchalantly.

I felt a slight tingle as it seems the space I had created was shattering and Voriath’s body exuded an intense amount of mana, destroying both the space and my time stop.

"Did you really think that would hold me?" Voriath asked, his voice dripping with anger and frustration.
