Lucas met Alpha Grey’s gaze without flinching. "I’ve come with my wife, Aurora, for the pre-delivery ritual."
The room fell silent.
Alpha Grey’s laugh started low, then grew louder, a sharp, mocking sound that echoed off the stone walls.
"Pre-delivery ritual?" he repeated, as if the words were a joke. "I thought you two were divorced."
Aurora’s hand instinctively went to her belly, a protective gesture that drew Alpha Grey’s attention.
His laughter died instantly, replaced by a deadly calm as he focused on her.
"We’re not divorced," Aurora said, her voice firm despite the fear that prickled at the back of her mind. "And I’m carrying Lucas’s pups."
Victoria gasped, her eyes wide as she finally noticed the subtle swell beneath Aurora’s dress.
"Again?" she blurted out, the shock clear in her voice.
Across the table, Elizabeth, who had remained silent through it all, sipped her wine with a slight smirk, as though she enjoyed watching the chaos unfold.
Lucas stepped forward, his posture confident. "Aurora is my wife, and we’re expecting our pups. I’m here with her this time, fully supporting her through everything."
