Chapter 199: The result
At midnight, Damien’s men infiltrated Lucas’s pack house as planned. Damien had been up worrying about Aurora and his child whom he didn’t get a chance to rejoice about.
"What of Vanessa?" He asked one of his men.
"In her room, she is locked there." The man answered and Damien nodded in response.
Pointing toward two men, he instructed, "You, and you, follow me. The rest should remain here," and led the way to Vanessa’s room.
He wasn’t entirely convinced by the work his men had done but having no other option than to trust them, he went with the flow. All he had to do now was send one of his men over with Vanessa’s finger to lure in Lucas.
Once Lucas took the bait and retreated, then he would begin with his next plan. For now, he could only rely on himself and his stupid brother, who should be by his side right now but decided to have a good night.
Reaching Vanessa’s door, he stationed the two men who followed him outside and entered her room.
As expected, the confident woman was standing upright, with no signs of fear or shock on her face. He would have been disappointed if he saw her in a disorganized position because it wouldn’t live up to the rumors about her.
"Alpha Damien, I suppose you are finally here for a proposal." Without sparing him a look, Vanessa inquired and smiled while still staring at the book she was reading.
