Chapter 190: Pitiful look
"What did you just say?" Anxious, Lucas gestured for the guard to come forward and questioned.
"While I was fighting, a she-wolf secretly dragged me away and her company told me to seek your audience." The guard did as instructed, clarifying.
"You want me to believe this is not a trap?" Unable to trust the words of the guard, he confronted him, instilling fear in the guard that almost made the guard run away.
"Did she drop any hints?" Coming to the rescue of the guard, Lucas’s beta asked the guard who pondered for some seconds before answering, "Yes, she said ’The inevitable.’"
Upon hearing that, Lucas’ mind flashed back to years ago and an ugly memory came into existence.
"It is Aurora, lead me to her." Finally accepting the words of the guard, he ordered and the guard immediately led the way.
"You will stay here," he commanded his beta who was about to follow after him.
"Alpha..." cutting him off, Lucas repeated, "You will stay here!" His gaze was stern as he threatened his beta.
Relenting, his beta simply nodded his head and watched him leave the tent with the guard. There was nothing he could do if Lucas kept on being stubborn, his mother would rule in his stead anyway.
