Chapter 114: Crocodile tears
Her informant was one of her exes that wished for them to be back together, which she didn’t agree to. She manipulated him into thinking she was going to date him, if he helped her with information. Fortunately, he had always been the foolish type, so it was easy to use him.
It was time she got rid of him anyways, her mother was available for that.
"Theresa, you are fully aware that the breeder culture was discontinued ages ago to avoid conflicts between potential heirs and to balance power in the pack, right?" Elder Jude, one of them asked.
"Yes," she nodded in agreement.
"Good. Even though you went against the pack’s rule, we acknowledge that you were trying to help the Alpha, and we won’t blame you for that. We were under the mistaken impression that the Alpha was impotent, but you should have shared your plans with the elders before taking any steps," he added, understanding the intention behind her actions. Despite her violation of the rule, she acted for Damien’s and the pack’s well-being. Her punishment wouldn’t be severe, as she was still the mother of their Alpha. Only Damien had the right to administer punishment beyond the ordinary.
All they could do was issue a warning or suspend her from pack duties for a month. Furthermore, Damien must be aware, he probably decided to keep it a secret from the elders for her sake. But knowing the type of person he was, she must have received one punishment, at the least. It was funny how she brought in lots of breeders and he tolerated them, what was his plan?
"But we won’t be punishing you because, in the process, you never caused harm to anyone," Elder Jude added, earning a smile from Theresa.
As it turned out, there were still reasonable voices in the Elder council.
"Let’s deal with the criminal here," growing impatient, Elder Timotei urged.
