Chapter 173: Running Out Of Money?
"Did you just say that these kids were rich? And that they had money? Aren’t they part of East Brinhurst, like the rest of the schools?" Max asked, his curiosity piqued.
Brinhurst was known as the most deprived part of Notting Hill City. It was an area where people didn’t even want to walk alone at night, and for good reason. Even the students in the schools there had lost most of their hope for a future.
Max knew the area well. It had become a magnet for delinquents, attracting all kinds of unsavory characters. However, Brinhurst itself was split into two parts: East Brinhurst and West Brinhurst.
East Brinhurst was where all the schools involved in the current gang mess were located. It was also where Max’s apartment was, and where the six gyms he had purchased were scattered around the area.
Though Max had been smart about it. He’d bought the gyms closer to his own school and Seaton Academy, rather than near Clapton’s territory, an area that wasn’t exactly under his influence yet.
As for West Brinhurst, there were a bunch of schools Max hadn’t made contact with yet. But from what he’d heard, the situation there was practically the same, and likely to become a problem in the future.
The entire region of Brinhurst was a breeding ground for gang activity. The Rejected Corps, along with the Chaline Boys, operated there as well. Though, to be fair, they didn’t really care about what the students were up to, aside from using them as easy tools to recruit into their gangs.
Because of all this, hearing the words rich and Brinhurst in the same sentence didn’t exactly add up in Max’s mind.
"Konsoon is one of those fancy grammar schools, where kids need to get a certain score just to be let in," Jay explained. "It’s not like a private school, there’s no fee to attend, but because of its reputation, a lot of parents who are serious about their kids’ education send them there."
Jay leaned back a bit.
"On top of that, Konsoon’s located right on the edge of Brinhurst."
