Tang Xue Mei smiled warmly at Leia, her hand resting gently on her friend’s shoulder. "You don’t have to apologize. I’m just happy you’re here now."
Leia grinned as she adjusted her wheelchair, moving closer to the twins, her eyes filled with admiration. "Look at these little angels. Shenhua and Shenmei, right? You’ve got your hands full now."
Tang Xue Mei laughed, nodding. "Yes, they’re already a handful, but I wouldn’t have it any other way."
Feng Shihan joined them, handing Shenhua to Tang Xue Mei while he gave Leia a light pat on the shoulder. "Leia, we’ll get you back on your feet soon enough. In the meantime, you can help us spoil these two."
Leia chuckled, shaking her head. "I’m looking forward to it. They’re going to be so loved."
Auntie Gu came bustling back with a tray of freshly prepared food, a satisfied smile on her face. "Madam, I’ve prepared a light meal with all the nutrients you need. I know you wanted something more exciting, but this will help you recover faster."
Tang Xue Mei looked at the carefully prepared dishes—steamed fish, vegetables, and a light broth. It wasn’t hotpot, but it looked delicious and comforting.
"Thank you, Auntie Gu. This looks perfect," Tang Xue Mei said, feeling touched by the effort and care put into the meal.
As the evening unfolded, the house was filled with warmth and laughter. The twins, now nestled comfortably in their bassinets, drew the attention of everyone as they dozed off peacefully. Tang Xue Mei felt a sense of peace wash over her despite the lingering concerns about Ye Chen Ling. For the first time in days, she felt at ease now that she was finally in the comfort of her home.
