Tang Xue Mei pouted but then smiled. "Fine, fine. I’ll settle for whatever you think is best. But once I’m fully recovered, we’re having a feast!"
"Deal," Feng Shihan agreed, his tone lightening as they finally headed home.
As they made their way to the car, Tang Xue Mei’s playful mood brought a sense of normalcy amidst the heightened security measures. Feng Shihan held her hand, offering a reassuring squeeze as they approached the sleek, black car waiting for them.
Feng Shiyan and Qin Mingyue carefully placed the twins in their infant carriers, ensuring they were secure before sliding into the vehicle themselves.
Wang Yu, one of the guards Ken had sent vigilantly, opened the door for Tang Xue Mei and Feng Shihan, then took his place behind the wheel.
The drive home was quiet, a stark contrast to the tension that had surrounded them in the hospital. Tang Xue Mei gazed out the window, the city passing by in a blur as she mentally prepared herself for their return home.
