Chapter 13: Cheating a Literal Cheat
[Ding! Copying and Pasting host's desired Physicality as his own!]
Jayden stood there, shoulders square, eyes locked on the screen. He couldn't believe it. Actually, no—he could. This was exactly the kind of power the system promised, and now it was real. Tangible. Working.
He laughed. Not some smug little chuckle—nah, he laughed. Big, messy, joyful noise that filled the living room like a middle finger to every insecurity he'd ever carried.
Then—
[Ding! Host's body is way too low to take the desired body changes! Host lacks necessary foundations to support the change of such to such a body! Host's body might get damaged!]
His laughter slowed, breath catching, but the smirk didn't fade.
Jayden didn't sigh out of disappointment. If anything, it was relief. The system wasn't broken. It wasn't fake. It wasn't handing out cheat codes without rules. You couldn't give a broken-down $3,000 car the engine of a military chopper and expect it to purr like a dream.
You'd blow the whole thing up.
No. His body couldn't yet take god-level transformation. And that? That was fine. Because it meant the Copy and Paste function was real, and there were levels to it. Gates to push through. Meaning.
Jayden turned back to the screen. "Alright... show me the first set of images again."
The screen flicked. This time, the images weren't divine or immortal—they were more grounded. Realistic. Still hot, but not mythical. Tall guys with decent shoulders, lean muscle, a bit of abs—not all the way chiseled but definitely not average either. Slightly above the crowd. The type that looked good shirtless, but you wouldn't immediately assume they were some elite athlete. Manageable.
