Chapter 87: Victor’s Strange Road
"Elder Amelia, we've been ambushed... I can already smell the stench of werewolves," a servant beside Amelia whispered urgently.
"Don't panic," Amelia replied calmly. "These sewer rats have attacked before. It's nothing new."
This wasn't the first time she'd been ambushed, and she wasn't the least bit worried. Every time, she had walked away victorious.
But this time, something was different.
"Amelia, do you remember me?"
A figure stood tall in the middle of the road, unmoving. Lucien didn't hide in the shadows like before—he wanted to be seen. After centuries of pain and rage, his hatred for Amelia burned hotter than ever. She had hunted him relentlessly for years.
"It's you, Lucien?" Amelia squinted, recognition flashing across her face. "It's been centuries... and now you finally have the guts to face me? Or is it just some new delusion making you think you can actually win this time?"
Despite her taunting words, her hands betrayed her calm. She quickly loaded her gun with silver bullets.
"Cut the crap!" Lucien roared, his body twisting and contorting as he transformed into a towering werewolf. "You die today!"
Gunshots rang out—Bang! Bang! Bang!—as Amelia emptied her weapon. Every single silver bullet hit its mark, piercing Lucien's flesh. But he didn't slow down. He didn't dodge.
Lucien crashed into her, slamming her to the ground. Before Amelia could react, his massive jaws clamped down on her neck. With one savage bite, he tore her throat open.
