Chapter 897
Chapter 897
When Anton returned to his room after spending time with his friends, he read the latest notification from his Diablo System.
He was delighted to discover that it was a reward for successfully creating a new spell based on his Diablo II Sorceress skills.
The notification informed him that, because he had recreated the Cleaning Spell, he had earned the ability to transfer any one item of his choice from the Single Player portion of Diablo II into reality.
It was an excellent reward.
His best equipment had always been in Single Player.
Although he found powerful items while playing Ladder characters in multiplayer, those characters and everything they possessed were temporary. Once a ladder season ended, the characters and all of their equipment were deleted.
The Single Player portion of his Diablo System, however, was permanent.
Every item he had ever found remained there indefinitely, and after years of playing, he had accumulated some of the finest equipment the game had to offer.
Now, he could transfer any one of those items into the real world.
The reward immediately motivated Anton to begin playing Single Player again in search of perfect equipment with the best possible affixes.
Fortunately, the internet contained countless guides detailing the ideal item rolls.
It also strengthened his determination to continue creating new spells based on his Diablo II Sorceress skills.
His current endgame equipment consisted of the following:
- Death's Fathom Dimensional Shard
- Spirit Monarch
- Nightwing's Veil
- Chains of Honor
- Crafted Blood Gloves
- Aldur's Advance Battle Boots
- Arachnid Mesh Spiderweb Sash
- A crafted Cold Skills amulet with +3 to Sorceress Skills
- Two Stone of Jordan rings
- The three unique charms: Annihilus, Hellfire Torch, and Gheed's Fortune
- Enough Small Charms and Grand Charms to fill a standard Diablo II inventory, which was the maximum his Diablo System permitted.
Unfortunately, his Diablo System imposed the same charm limits as an ordinary Diablo II character.
At least his inventory, together with the storage chest inside the Safe Zone, was large enough to hold every miscellaneous item he had accumulated over the years, including enormous quantities of food, drinks, crafting materials, completed magic items, and all of the valuable equipment he had collected while playing Single Player.
In reality, Anton currently possessed the complete Tal Rasha's Wrappings set, along with the rest of the equipment his in-game Sorceress wore.
As for charms, the Diablo System allowed him to carry eight Hellfire Torches—one representing each Diablo II character class—as well as a single Annihilus Small Charm.
He had not transferred many additional charms because he had prioritized larger pieces of equipment.
His original plan had been to transfer Small Charms and Grand Charms during the next ladder season, but thanks to the reward for recreating the Cleaning Spell, he no longer had to wait.
Even so, the Diablo System clearly informed him that the number of charms he could carry in reality was limited to the same number an ordinary Diablo II character could equip.
That restriction disappointed him.
He had hoped charms would become a shortcut to greatly increasing his strength by taking advantage of his enormous inventory.
Instead, the system prevented exactly that.
At present, the inventory reflected in reality consisted of ten pages.
Anton designated the first page exclusively for the charms his in-game character carried, which were naturally reflected in the real world.
The second page was reserved for charms he had permanently transferred into reality.
The remaining pages, from the third through the tenth, served as his general inventory.
Fortunately, the storage chest in the Safe Zone was even larger.
It contained years' worth of accumulated supplies: food, drinks, crafting materials, completed magic items, and every valuable piece of equipment he had saved.
Despite all of that, only around ten percent of the storage chest was occupied.
That was why Anton always left his character standing beside the storage chest whenever he logged out.
It made accessing his belongings far more convenient.
As for the charms he intended to transfer into reality, he had already obtained the eight Hellfire Torches and the Annihilus Small Charm.
He briefly considered transferring Gheed's Fortune.
However, since its primary benefit was improving the quality of loot he found, he ultimately decided against it.
Instead, he used his newly earned transfer reward on a Grand Charm that granted +1 to Cold Skills along with additional life.
Looking over his equipment, Anton nodded in satisfaction.
Even so, another realization soon occurred to him.
When choosing equipment for the real world, he should stop focusing exclusively on maximizing his Sorceress abilities.
Instead, he should prioritize gear that improved his overall survivability and versatility.
He would have to spend time carefully planning the ideal equipment set for real-world combat.
Of course, he had no intention of wearing his bulky magical equipment during ordinary daily life.
He would only equip it when preparing for battle.
After organizing his thoughts regarding his equipment, Anton turned his attention to something else.
He wanted to test his newly created Cleaning Spell.
He first experimented inside his room.
Unsatisfied with the results, he stepped outside and began casting it in various locations around the ship while taking care to remain inconspicuous.
The last thing he wanted was for someone to report him for recklessly casting spells aboard the vessel—even if the spell was only intended for cleaning.
Eventually, he tested the spell using its maximum mana capacity.
A massive section of the ship was instantly cleaned.
Moments later, surprised voices echoed from the distance.
Realizing he had probably attracted attention, Anton quietly returned to his room before anyone came looking for the person responsible.
During the following two weeks, Anton settled into a comfortable routine.
He spent a couple of hours each day completing his Diablo Immortal daily quests.
Afterward, he devoted another two hours to playing Diablo II Single Player, searching for perfect charms that he planned to transfer into reality once he earned another transfer reward by recreating a Diablo-based spell.
After finishing his item farming, he spent the rest of his free time with his friends.
As the cosplay convention drew closer, he began helping them prepare their costumes.
To be fair, Anton knew his assistance bordered on cheating.
He showed his friends videos of some of the finest cosplay costumes created by cosplayers on Earth.
Although the number of movies available aboard the ship was limited, those online tutorials taught them countless techniques for constructing high-quality costumes.
Unfortunately, several nobles eventually learned about Anton's assistance.
They asked Liemdal to inform him that if he continued helping his friends, they would be disqualified from the costume design competitions.
Anton merely shrugged and agreed.
By then, he had already shown his friends more than enough reference material for them to complete their costumes on their own.
Before the ship's cosplay convention finally arrived, the end of the month came, and Anton once again met with his father and his sister.
He told them all about the upcoming convention.
Both Anders and Anna laughed at the antics Anton and his friends had gotten up to while preparing their costumes.
Although Anton thought it was somewhat unfair, he himself had been prohibited from participating in any of the costume design competitions.
He then eagerly shared another piece of good news.
He explained how he had successfully recreated the Cleaning Spell using the mana structures from his Diablo II Sorceress skills.
Excitedly, he told them that the moment the spell was completed, a fourth tab had appeared within his Sorceress skill tree.
The new tab was titled General Spells, and his newly created Cleaning Spell had become its very first entry.
