Chapter 777
Chapter 777
Anton reflected on what Devin had said regarding his behavior of appearing as an extremely naïve teenager. If he was being honest, he was like that, and not only that, he was extremely loose-lipped and usually freely told his friends, even just his acquaintances, some of his abilities. He had not encountered a situation yet in which he had endangered himself and his family because of his behavior. The fact that he had attained a powerful magic strength from his Diablo System at an extremely fast pace made him a little overconfident about his situation, and possibly, he thought that whatever he did would not affect him too much.
Weirdly, Anton had a contradictory shaky belief that he was powerful, but then he also believed that he was an insignificant being compared to the powers of beings of this world. For some reason, Anton had always believed that he would only matter if he reached a certain amount of strength. At first, he thought that he would only matter if he reached the Invincible Rank, but when he learned about the Semi-Divine and Divine Rank wizards, he shifted his thought that he would only matter if he reached those ranks.
Anton just shrugged and shelved those thoughts at the back of his mind and started leveling up his ladder characters until he fell asleep.
During the next seven days of their journey, Anton and his three guides did nothing but travel all day and rest at night. Delfin and Eva were still extremely delighted at their newly acquired dire wolves. The two wolves had proven their strength during the last seven days. They easily dispatched any undead or monsters they encountered along the way.
At first, Delfin and Eva were alarmed at the number of monsters and enemies on the road. If they were guiding someone normal, they knew that they all would have been killed already. Even the first enemies they encountered, which were a patrolling group of ghouls led by a vampire, were enough to have them killed a thousand times over.
Because of how formidable the two dire wolves that Anton gave them, Delfin, Eva, and their son Devin’s confidence grew. They even asked the wolves to hunt animals that they encountered along the way, shamelessly asking Anton to store the meat for them. Everyone knew that most towns and villages had a massive lack of food, and they believed that once they reached a large town, they would earn a lot of gold coins from selling the animals that they hunted.
The speed of their travel astounded Anton’s three guides. The fact that they were able to keep their donkeys running the whole day because of the support of Anton’s spells lessened the journey time considerably. Delfin told Anton that if they kept up their unbelievable pace, they would reach Amendora in just a couple of more weeks.
As promised, Anton returned to the Rose Manor after seven days, and he made sure that his presence was felt by always casting the Blizzard spell converted into Mana Rain onto the whole manor whenever he was back. That action seemed to pacify the worries of the wizards that might be monitoring him because no one came to request his presence.
Anton did not stay in the manor long. After giving the town portal scrolls to Raymond, he would travel back to Rendindura within the hour. He did not want to return to find out that his guides were killed by powerful monsters or undead roaming around. Delfin did tell him that once they get near Amendora, they might encounter more powerful undead.
During the next seven days, Anton finally reached the maximum level for his ladder Paladin, and he immediately started leveling up a ladder Barbarian character. He was rushing since the ladder season would end soon. He finally transferred a Sorceress Hellfire Torch from the game to the real world after his ladder Paladin reached the maximum level. He had not transferred one before, since Anton did not know how it would function in the real world.
When the Hellfire Torch was transferred, the thing was actually what it said it was. A torch. The fire was a little unique, but it would be awkward if he had to hold it to utilize its effect in the real world. Thankfully, Anton discovered that when he stored it in his inventory, his system treated it as its own unique item, and its options were added to his stats. That meant that the effect of the torch would stack with the one he currently had in his inventory, so now he had two Hellfire Torches active. At least, he did not have to hold the Hellfire Torch in his hand and just store it in his inventory.
That meant that all the things that he transferred from the game to the real world would be treated by his Diablo II system as its own unique item. He wondered if the same thing would happen if he transferred another Hellfire Torch. Anton planned to try it out once he reached the maximum level for his Barbarian. Then again, he decided to ask his system by utilizing the search bar, and his Diablo System actually answered him by sending him a notification.
It informed him that his Diablo System would allow him to stack as many as eight Hellfire Torches in his inventory, aside from the one that was part of the gear that he had in the game, so a total of nine Hellfire Torches. His system told him that he could transfer one specialized Hellfire Torch for each of the Diablo II characters, meaning that the next Hellfire Torch that he could transfer should have a plus skill points on characters except the Sorceress.
Thankfully, Anton was given the option to turn off the options of his items if he wanted, just like his ability to turn off the special effects of his auras and buffs. The plus to the light radius would be awkward if it were “on” all the time.
Anton decided, though, that the next items that he would transfer from the game to the real world would aim at fully equipping his father and sister with high-level gear. Currently, his father had Enigma, Heart of the Oak, Insight, which the four wizard apprentice was currently using, the Shield of Zakarum that he recently transferred, and the recent item that he had given to his father, which was the Carrion Shank Demon Hide Boots.
Anton’s sister had the Insight spear, the Sorceress Circlet of Enlightenment that had a plus three to Sorceress skill level, and the most recent items that he gave her, which were the Beast Collar Amulet and the Magefist Light Gauntlet.
Once Anton’s father and his sister were fully equipped, he would return to transferring items for himself.
Anton returned to the manor after seven days again, and thankfully, nothing notable happened, so he went back to Rendindura immediately.
After another seven days, they finally reached the town nearest Nermador, the capital city of Amendora. As per their agreement, Delfin, Eva, and Devin would stop in that town while Anton would continue his journey alone to Nermador. Thankfully, the road to Amendora’s capital city was straightforward, and there was little chance that Anton would get lost.
Before leaving, Anton went with his three guides, who rented a warehouse. Anton then put all the animals that Delfin and his family hunted while they were traveling. Delfin, Eva, and Devin were full of joy at the massive amount of games that they asked Anton to keep. The animals would earn them a lot of coins, and because of their two powerful Dire Wolves, they were not worried about anyone troubling them.
