My Girlfriend is a Zombie

Chapter 902: A Moment of Madness

“This is me” … These were the second words spoken by the woman in white after her appearance. From her lowered stance and her gesture as though trying to reach out and touch the female corpse, it wasn’t hard to deduce the meaning behind her words – in this meticulously crafted scene, the role played by this corpse was to reenact a part of her past.

But… what exactly did this scene signify?

Ling Mo quickly steadied his breathing, forcing himself to calm down. He glanced out of the corner of his eye at the corpses, then at the woman in white, and slowly asked, “You are the so-called ‘Sister,’ the Progenitor Zombie, right?”

The woman in white, however, seemed uninterested in answering his question. She remained in her posture, seemingly muttering to herself, “Aren’t you curious? You know, there’s actually a lot of similarity between humans and zombies. Take, for example… curiosity. Humans are curious creatures, and so are zombies. In fact, zombies often take it to the next level. Humans have concerns-they weigh risks and consider consequences. But zombies? They don’t complicate things like that. Then again, isn’t it natural? After all, weren’t zombies originally humans? The resemblance is to be expected…”

“…” Ling Mo remained silent as well, though his emotions were far from as calm as his appearance suggested.

“Hey, hey, did you pop out just to chit-chat with me? Or have you been keeping your personal drama to yourself for so long that you can’t wait to play narrator? I mean, even though your outfit and voice seem pretty normal… this scene is anything but, okay?”

While internally grumbling, Ling Mo subtly glanced toward the side window. With the curtains drawn, he couldn’t see outside. Between the woman in white and the window, however, stood a cabinet. “Just a cabinet. As long as I stay here, she won’t leave the room. So, I’ll find an opportunity eventually. But… Ye Lian fired her gun earlier, didn’t she? Those eyes we saw from Ye Lian’s perspective-were they hers?”

He turned back to observe the female zombie again, but her hair was simply too long, almost entirely covering the side of her face. All Ling Mo could see were a pair of pale hands. Meanwhile, his zombie instincts were warning him not to act recklessly. Never mind how somber and melancholic she appeared now – as a Progenitor Zombie, she could transform into a bloodthirsty monster at a moment’s notice.

Until he found an opening, Ling Mo didn’t want to provoke her unnecessarily. If she wanted to talk, so be it. Any extra time he could buy would be to his advantage…
