My Girlfriend is a Zombie

Chapter 901: The Banquet of the Corpse

The eyes of the female corpse were undeniably black…

“Another human…” Ling Mo stepped around the severed head, moving slowly toward the female corpse. Along the way, his gaze swept across the ground until he quickly spotted the parasite, which was attempting to crawl deeper into the shadows.

“Still inside, huh…” Ling Mo quickly took two steps forward, carefully grabbing the parasite and pinching it tightly in his hand. He couldn’t yet be sure whether this parasite was still connected to that Progenitor Zombie, but given his previous success with using psychic interference, Ling Mo figured it was better to take this monster with him for now.

Better safe than sorry…

The parasite squirmed incessantly in his palm, but Ling Mo’s gaze had already turned back to the female corpse in front of him.

A strange odor emanated from the corpse, and something about her condition puzzled Ling Mo. Judging solely by the decayed state of her clothing, it was evident that she had died a long time ago. However, her body still retained much of its elasticity and moisture, making her appear more like a dehydrated living person than a typical corpse. Her face, though somewhat attractive, was frozen in a stark expression of terror and despair that remained vivid to this day. Moreover, her exposed skin seemed to be coated in some sort of substance…

“What is this…” Ling Mo frowned, reaching out to touch it before rubbing his fingers together. “Feels like… dried mucus? Almost like plastic wrap…” He observed it closely, mulling over the situation. “No other anomalies… So it must be this layer of mucus that preserved her body until now.”

With that thought, Ling Mo reached over and brushed aside the female corpse’s hair to reveal her tattered jacket underneath.

“No wounds… so it’s not a gestation pod. If that’s the case, why preserve her? Senior Zombies wouldn’t consume food that’s this far past its prime… Uh, sorry about that…” Though he thought the words in his mind, Ling Mo’s actions hardly conveyed any real apology. He pinched the edge of the jacket and gave it a tug, slowly pulling out a blue strap that had been hidden within.
