The Throne Is Mine

Chapter 323

Fraser got to his feet at a speed he didn’t think his body could have with how tired he was. It might have been his hunger or thirst that had him hearing things from a dead man’s mouth, but he was not taking a risk when the devil’s wife was outside.

Fraser looked at the door he had piled up so many benches on. It would take him a while to pull down the benches so he could get out of there and take a chance running past Lilith. While trying to hide in the church, he trapped himself with a priest who didn’t know how to be dead.

"King Fraser."

"Shit," Fraser cursed, running from the offering table to the door to start taking down the benches. First, demons and now ghosts were in the castle.

"King Fraser," the voice repeated, but this time, it was more than one priest addressing Fraser.

Fraser ignored the dead men as he ran to the door. His vision started to become blurry, but he shook his head to focus and pulled at the benches the moment he reached the door. He had not thought of making it easy to get out if a demon were to find a way inside.

Now that he thought about it as he fought to pull away all the benches, he should have kept one of the doors with only one bench in front of it for a quick escape.

"King Fraser."

The distorted voice of the men behind him sent shivers throughout Fraser’s body. The stench of death that once filled the room vanished like there were never any dead men in the temple.

A cracking noise filled the temple aside from Fraser panting. Deep intakes of air like someone was finally given access to air once again after being underwater for so long were heard.

Fraser froze, shaken up by fear. He feared what he might witness if he were to turn around now. There were still many benches for him to push from blocking the door and he knew he would not get them out of the way in time.
