The Throne Is Mine

Chapter 296

Margaret knew her family’s history and knew not to listen to the words of witches who liked to trick others. Then there was Anne, who should be dead. These witches had done the unthinkable by bringing back the dead. The dead was meant to stay dead for a reason. Now Anne was walking around in a body that did not belong to her. The castle needed the priests now more than ever.

Margaret hoped that the other priests not in the castle were already planning an attack. It had to be their biggest one yet since so many demons were roaming the kingdom. The most important targets were Anne, Killian, and the devil’s wife. Amelia would be taken to be made pure again and fed medicine to get rid of any children she might be carrying but was not aware of.

Margaret decided to be silent. Nothing more had to be said from her end to Anne or these witches.

Anne walked away from where Margaret stood, leaving Cordelia and Ramona confused.

"Anne! Where are you going? We are not finished with the woman yet," Ramona said, following Anne to a corner of the throne room where no one stood. "Don’t tell me that little conversation has satisfied you."

"It hasn’t. I feel the need to feed, and if I start now, Amelia will return and find me trying to eat every human here. I do not want my daughter to see me like that, so I will stand here for a moment. The further away I am from them, the less I think about eating," Anne said.

"The one time there is someone in front of you who you should eat, you can’t. We will stand here with you until the urge passes. We should have gotten you a quick meal before coming here. We passed a few farmers when-"

"I don’t want to eat any more of my people. We must get the rest of my soul out of the underworld so this stops, or you must kill me after I have met with Amelia. The extra time you have given me in this world is enough. I do not want to make life difficult for you two. I must sit," Anne said, touching her chest where there was pain.

She sat down on the floor, not caring how she would look to others. She was not the queen right now, so there was no need for her to stand around looking poised all the time.
