"Doesn’t this feel like two years ago?" Cordelia asked.
"It does, but it was night at that time, and we didn’t get to see much of the castle. If not for the priests, you would have let us live here with you, right Anne?" Ramona asked, looking around the large castle. It was much better than the little house they had.
"No, because I did not want to be here. I should have listened to you and not wandered so far from our home. Then I wouldn’t have met Leonard, and then Richard would not have wanted me. The only problem is that I would not have Amelia, and I cannot be without my daughter. If I had to do it all over again, I would kill Richard right after I was blessed with Amelia," said Anne.

"Absolutely not! We are not letting you out of our sight. You might look human, but if your hunger starts and you start to kill the humans you pass, they will attack you. Think about where a queen would be placed in the middle of this," Ramona said, pointing at the sky.
The queen, even if she was married to a demon, had to be in a safe place.
"The throne room," Anne muttered.
The doors were built to be hard to break down once they were locked from the inside, and not many knew it, but if you moved the throne, there was a secret exit leading out of the castle. It was built in case the castle was ever taken over and the royals needed to be taken somewhere safe if the throne room doors were to be destroyed.
