The Throne Is Mine

Chapter 250

"How did witches meet her to end up raising her? Was she initially taken for one of their sacrifices?"

Sybil shook her head. "I’m told they heard crying near where they lived at the time. They rushed to take the child to cage her. Somehow those fools ended up feeding, clothing, and sheltering her. Raising her like she was a witch. Many of my sisters know about Anne. Something about her charmed them into liking her."

Sybil started to believe that Anne was secretly a witch all along to be able to charm her sisters. Even her.

Killian noted that despite Sybil not liking her sisters having raised a human it did not sound like Sybil hated Anne. "You cared for her," he said.

"I care for my frogs before I toss them in a boiling pot to help make my spells. I can always kill the things I care for without a second thought. That little girl was strange. She saw us for who we were and never got scared of us. She was more scared of being alone. Her parents died somehow. She never told us how. To think she became Queen," Sybil smiled. "I should have raised her to let witches take over."

"It is her daughter who I am married to. Amelia Blackwell, now known as Amelia Bune, Queen of the north," Killian revealed. He watched Sybil turn to him with a surprised look. "Your sources didn’t give my wife a name?"

"Her daughter ended up with a demon? My oh my. Anne must be furious," said Sybil. Anne was always scared to tell anyone about her connection to witches.

"Anna Blackwell is dead. Everyone should know that by now. It has been two years-"

Sybil’s laughter interrupted Killian. "So they believe. Do you think witches who dabble in all kinds of dark and black magic would not bring Anne back to life? My sisters were hellbent on killing the person who made Anne suffer."

"Anne is alive?" Killian asked, the disbelief evident in his tone. He was starting to believe Sybil was telling him a whole bunch of bullshit. From what he heard, Amelia had a good relationship with her mother. "If Anne were alive, why wouldn’t she make that known to the child who misses her?"

Sybil sighed as though Killian was from the underworld, he would never understand how dark magic worked. It was costl her greatly just to use it for small things so bringing someone back from the dead cost a lot more. "It was hard work for my sisters to travel in the late hours of the night to Anne’s grave, dig her body out and take her home where she truly belonged. One of my sisters went to take the daughter, but the fool accidentally dropped a potion on the child who woke up screaming."

"They had no choice but to leave Anne’s daughter behind since the guards were alerted. They took Anne’s body back to their home and started a sacrifice to wake her. It worked, but Anne isn’t all there yet," Sybil pointed at her head. "They were able to pull her soul here into this world to go into a new body, but a part of her soul still remains in the underworld. It would take a powerful demon like yourself to go into the underworld and free her soul completely so that she can stop having those cravings for human flesh that she has now."
