The Throne Is Mine

Chapter 249

Amelia folded her lips to stop herself from talking. She had a feeling that by the time she was finished reading her books, she was going to see what the demon here looked like and she would most definitely pass out from the fright.

She looked around to see if Edith was near, but realized the library seemed to have gotten darker and the only light seemed to be on her and the table she was using. There was something odd about the library, but she certainly was not going to ask the librarian about it.

Amelia went back to looking at the book she could now understand. The librarian was scary but their ability to change the language so easily was fascinating. They would be useful for when she and Killian had to meet with any other royalty who spoke a different language or she could send them to scare Fraser who could never be quiet for long.

’This necklace,’ Amelia traced the outline of the drawing with her finger. She had seen it before. The first thought was Lilith since it had something to do with demons, but she could not place seeing Lilith with it. It was someone else.

’It’s called the blood diamond necklace. The blood diamond has a special effect to glow when it is near pure vampire royalty. The blood diamonds are rare and guarded by vampire royalty to test on anyone who claims to be from the special lineage. If the diamond does not glow in the presence of someone claiming to be royalty, they are beheaded and their body burned afterwards. Don’t tell me I have been around vampires,’ Amelia sighed.

She continued to stare at the necklace, trying to place it where she had seen it. "Grandmother?" She muttered.

Amelia remembered the faint memories of when she would visit her grandmother’s room and dress up with her. Margaret would have all kinds of things to wear. "Is it the same?" Amelia whispered.

Amelia was certain she had seen this before. A long time ago, not recently. "It will come to me when I least expect," she said, moving on to something else. Amelia flipped the page and saw a fountain. "This isn’t a book just about demons," she said, turning the book so she could see what the title was now that she could read it. "Wonders of the world," she read.

"This is what humans call the fountain of youth. Drink it and you shall keep your youth for as long as you live. There are some cases when the fountain gives those who drink immortality. My last trip to find the fountain showed that the water was all dried up or perhaps someone had stolen it. Placing more water instead did not grant one youth. This was written by Samuel," Amelie said, placing her index finger where his name was placed.
