The Throne Is Mine

Chapter 225

"Why are you always playing the role of a priest?" Amelia asked Blade who was dressed in white as a priest. This was the second time he was involved in something major in her life since he was the priest at her wedding.

"One simple answer. I look good in white," Blade touched his white shirt. He started to like his job of pretending to be a priest. After the fake coronation, he planned to go down to one of the human villages in the Blackwell kingdom and act as a priest. He wanted to enjoy cursing instead of offering blessings humans were expecting to get. "I might make it official soon."

"Please keep out of temples or churches but anyone who takes one look at you and thinks you are a priest deserves to be fooled," Amelia muttered.

"I did fool your wedding guests from the Blackwell kingdom. That means there are fools from that side," said Blade.

"I can’t disagree with you there but you did receive strange looks at the wedding. I saw it with my own eyes. Anyway, thank you for putting on your white clothes to act as a priest for one more day. Killian and I are ready to get this started," Amelia said, taking hold of Killian’s hand.

They stood outside the throne room where a few demons stood as the inside was most likely full or they did not want to be in a tight space with other demons. Amelia blocked out the insults she heard about being a human. It didn’t matter as this human was now Queen of the north and if they did not like it, they could go elsewhere. Their whispering stopped when Killian looked in their direction.

Another reason Amelia wanted to become a demon was to make it hard for her to be killed. Humans were more of her enemies than demons at the moment. With how things were going at the moment, she would one day have to fight against Fraser. Fraser wanted her dead just as much as she wanted him dead. Being a demon was her way of protecting herself.

Amelia’s thoughts were interrupted by Killian squeezing her hand. ’Right. I should not think about other things now,’ she thought. Amelia squeezed his hand back as a way to say she was alright and ready for what was to come. Nothing could go wrong with Killian by her side.

Amelia kept her eyes straight ahead and continued to hold Killian’s hand as they walked down the path created for them to go to the two big thrones. It was unbelievable that after years of waiting for this moment, it was finally here. It was all thanks to the man beside her. If not for Killian, there would have been no chance for her to become Queen no matter who she would try to kill. She needed to thank him more often for this.

"A human," demons hissed as she walked by.
