The Throne Is Mine

Chapter 217

"She’s not there," Cyrus said before they reached the house. He tried picking up on Jahi’s presence but sensed nothing.

’I kind of miss when he was still searching for her and our lives was simple,’ Gina thought. Jahi becoming a slave was terrible but Gina disliked the unnecessary trouble Jahi was creating only because she believed foolish rumors about Amelia and Cyrus.

"It doesn’t feel like anyone has been around her for hours," Edith said, rejoining the group with a body sword.

Gina wasn’t concerned about the blood on Edith’s sword. She was concerned with the blood around Edith’s mouth as she bit into something but Gina would not dare ask. "What are we going to do about Jahi? If she’s not here, where will she go? Does either of you know where Agramon resides? I don’t hear about him sleeping in the castle."

"Agramon lives in a cave near the castle. He lives in the underworld most of the time and travels through the gates when he has something to do or to be specific, a life to ruin. Her plan to use Agramon to be in the caste failed so she might have left to find him. That is if she is working for him. No offense to you Cyrus but this girl isn’t smart. You need to cut ties with her now before she gets you wrapped up in her mess," said Edith.

"You are right that I am not able to focus on Amelia because I am dealing with Jahi. I will go back through the gates with Edith and ask Killian to ban both of us from ever returning to this world. That is the only way to fix all of this," Cyrus gripped his sword. He was not going to allow Jahi to die or Amelia to be hurt. The best way to protect both was to keep them as far away from each other as possible. "Amelia and I were meant to go our separate ways once I found Jahi."

"Yes but Amelia doesn’t have many people here she can trust aside from me, you, Edith, and the King. There has to be another way to get Jahi to stop pushing herself into danger. Is there a way for her to meet with King Richard in the underworld? It is because of him that the North was attacked and was forced into slavery. Take her to him," Gina suggested.

"I am new to this group and I have never met this woman you all speak of but it is clear as day this has nothing to do with slavery. Jahi wants Ameli dead because she doesn’t like the attention Cyrus gives to Amelia. That attention once belonged to her and she doesn’t want to share it. She is one of those women who have no interest in a man but acts like she does when there is another woman involved. That’s the real issue here," Edith stated the obvious.

"You came out of the underworld to get away from life there. You shouldn’t have to go back because of Jahi’s antics. I say we leave her and let her regret her actions," Gina said, looking at Edith who agreed with her. Why were they going out of their way to convince Jahi not to work with Agramon when there were better things they could be doing now? After receiving a threat from Killian, you would think Jahi would be smart enough to let this all go.

"It is easy to say that when you have no relationship with her and your loyalty lies solely with Amelia. I did not stay in the Blackwell castle to search for Jahi only to let this be her end. She is a good person but I need to speak with her. Amelia and I always had a deal before her engagement to Killian and I am going back to it," said Cyrus.

Cyrus could leave Amelia’s side now that she had Killian who was far stronger than he was. Amelia was protected and now he was going to make sure Jahi was protected. He could not turn his back on a friend just yet when there was still hope she could get over this revenge.

"If that is what you want to do, there is no reason for us to try stopping you. This is starting to get boring. We should head back to the castle now Gina. It will get dangerous the darker the sky becomes. I know you want your little group to stick together but there is honestly no reason to keep going around in a circle about this Jahi woman. I must warn you before we part ways. If she tries to harm the Queen, I will kill her," Edith gave Cyrus a heads up. She was only loyal to the person who employed her.
