Chapter 189
"You can open your eyes now," Killian said as soon as he landed on the balcony of their room a moment ago but Amelia still clung to him. He quite liked it and contemplated staying with her like this until she realized it. "Any time I want you to cling to me I should just fly you around."
"Why didn’t I suggest the carriage? Why would I make you fly?" Amelia asked, shakingly getting out of Killian’s arms. The moment his feet left the ground she closed her eyes and held onto his shirt as much as she could. The fear of falling was not something she could escape. "I am not doing this again."
"You resemble a cat after being tossed in the water," Killian said as he watched her walk.
"A cat tossed in water? I am not even going to assume it was anyone but you who has tossed a cat in water for your own enjoyment."
"It was not me. I simply watched it happen," Killian replied, recalling the trembling creature.
Amelia opened the balcony doors to go inside their bedroom but did not make it too far inside as the appearance of the room stunned her. "What is going on here?" She inquired.
Their room was now filled with candles and flowers on the floor. Piles of alcohol, fruits, and meat were on the tiny table.
"It seems someone got ahead of themself," Killian said, just as surprised as Amelia. He knew the room would be given a romantic touch but not to this extent.
"The meat is still warm. How did they time our arrival with the food being warm? It isn’t time for us to return yet? Did you intend on returning this time?" Amelia asked, suspicious of Killian. It was too much of a coincidence for the food to be here hours before their return unless the servants thought they would enjoy cold food.
