The Throne Is Mine

Chapter 83

"I’m sorry all that I could show you about this kingdom is a garden. We would have to sneak out and wear disguises for me to show you around without anyone getting scared of you. Can you," she paused to inch closer to Killian so that the Blackwell guards watching over her would not hear her words. "Can you fly us out of the castle tonight for me to take you around?"

"Princess," Killian whispered. "I think this is more about you trying to see my wings. All you needed to do was ask."

"Really? I mean," Amelia cleared her throat. She didn’t propose sneaking out just to see his wings but she was just excited he had not shot down letting her see them. "I want you to see the good side of my land. That was all. We should meet three hours after dinner when the castle is not busy with servants and visitors. That is when I normally sneak out-Oops," she bit her lip.

"Your guards are truly terrible if you can sneak past them. You with no training on how to be stealthy can pass by men who should have years of training before being able to guard the castle? Hilarious," Killian said in a dull tone. The Blackwells made it too easy for a man like him. He was finding taking over the Blackwell castle to be boring because of how easy it was.

"That’s because Cyrus would be right by my side to help me get out. Our guards are good but they were just under the commands of people who lacked good strategies and tactics. Of course, we would lose to you with my father as king and your people being so much stronger. It won’t be so easy for you to enter the castle again. Not that you need to because of our truce," said Amelia.

"What makes you so confident?"

"Fraser’s paranoia. The last king was murdered while he slept and Fraser will feel like the north will be one day out to get him even with a truce. He’s bound to have as many guards as possible around the castle and the borders. It will be beneficial as the people will be more protected but I hope this doesn’t mean they will be in a cage because Fraser wants to be so protected that he feels the people might be out to get them," said Amelia.

"I see. We should continue this talk back in the castle," Killian informed her. He noticed one of the Blackwell guards kept taking a peek at them and was repositioning himself to try to get closer to where they sat.

This was a guard more so for Amelia than himself which meant someone was watching the princess and this guard would report whatever they were talking about. Anything important between him and Amelia was said in a hushed tone while they walked and sat in this garden. Still, he would get rid of the pest.
