Chapter 59
’This is annoying,’ Amelia thought.
As far as she was concerned, she had done nothing to interest Killian to be the one thing stopping him from burning their castle. It was putting a lot of pressure on her because when it came to a man like this it was never easy to make him change his mind about destroying his enemies.
When word of this spreads, everyone will be pleading with her to marry Killian for the castle to have peace. Somewhere deep down Amelia knew she would inevitably give in to what Killian wanted in order to keep her people safe. Her people mattered more than what she wanted anyway.
However, before Amelia gave in there were some demands she wanted to be approved before she decided to give Killian her new answer. She always wanted to try offering him more suggestions other than the two of them getting married. The two of them had somehow been able to have a peaceful conversation last night and maybe they could have one again.
"King Killian, I would love to have a word with you after breakfast or whenever you are free," Amelia spoke up. Once again when she looked in his direction she found him to already be watching her. Amelia squirmed in her seat and looked away.
"It would have to be after we’ve spoken to your court ministers. They have all gathered and are waiting for us in your throne room. Eat up," Killian stood up from his seat. His eyes moved from Amelia to Cyrus who looked at nothing but the princess in front of him. He left the dining hall without another word. After a long night, Amelia would want a moment with her grandmother.
"Are you alright child?" Margaret spoke up when Killian left. She was still mindful of the northerners left in the room. They would relay every word to Killian later.
"Yes. No one hurt you right? Did my maid come to your room?" Amelia had to make sure Gina was safe and sound.
"Yes. She is safe. She told me how brave you were to seek out Killian to have a word with him-"
