Chapter 258: Public Execution
Nikolai was having a lot of fun torturing Haman throughout the trial. While the man himself had gone silent at the overwhelming evidence against him, he could still feel his fear wafting off him in spades, and that was more than enough for him to enjoy the justice being served for both Mineah and his kingdom.
"No! It should be me!" Eva screamed even as some of his men began restraining her. "Don’t you all dare touch my son!"
"Unfortunately, the law doesn’t care," Sage leered as she stood up and went to where Haman was currently sitting. "I’ll do as His Majesty commands. Clearly, no one else wants to touch such a sinful individual, so I’ll be the one to spare them from the disgust of doing it."
"You... You just want more power!" Eva accused.
"I’m simply doing my duties to the crown," Sage cheekily smirked. "There’s nothing wrong if I get a reward out of it."
Nikolai inwardly smirked as he watched Sage begin to suck the Exordium toxin out of Haman’s blood without so much as a care in the world.
All the while, Eva was kicking and screaming as she watched her traitorous son slowly have his life sucked out of him. This was actually yet another part of his plan to get the Rossi and the Wagner Clans to start feuding.
By the time Sage was done, Haman was an exhausted wreck, his Exordium status now null and void as he was left powerless against any lesser vampire that wanted to suck his blood.
"Thank you, Lady Sage," Nikolai nodded in approval at the woman, to which the latter simply gave him an appreciative smile before returning to her seat. "With Haman now rendered but a normal vampire, is there anyone who would like to see what he truly did through his blood?"
