Chapter 144: Who Will You Save?
Nikolai dared not move while he basked in the afterglow and stunning view before his eyes. She was in a deep sleep, and the faint light inside their room was just enough for him to have a full view of his sunshine. Yes, Mineah was the sunshine that unexpectedly came into his life, and it seemed that today was yet another beautiful day he could look forward to.
"Who would’ve thought that I’ll end up being blessed like this by following that prophecy?" he murmured with a content smile. "Despite me not believing in it, I still reaped its benefits."
Truly, he had no intentions of marrying or even being in a marriage alliance before. It was only his mother and his officials that pushed him into it. Then again, his father did follow the prophecy, and he ended up being gifted with a son that harbored the Mark of Eternity. He supposed it was now his turn to follow the prophecy given by their kingdom’s prophet.
As most people already know, a prophet was a messenger who delivered messages from the Almighty and the Heavens. Unlike the Seers in Ebodia who hold the power to see the future, their prophets have to decipher their messages. For years, they had followed the prophecy, and so far, their kingdom has continued to prosper and succeed against potential downfall.
Thinking on it now, he was glad that he ended up following his mother in getting married for an alliance...
"I want her again," he murmured with a pained sigh. He was so hard again just by looking at her like this, but he knew must control himself...
Looking at her like this already made him feel like he had exhausted his wife too much. She was very accommodating to him, but he really should control himself more. After all, his wife was still human, and she wouldn’t be able to heal on her own. She was probably still sore at this point after the number of times he took her from night till dawn.
Letting out a sigh, Nikolai frowned when he suddenly felt the presence of her handmaidens nearing. They would probably check on his wife since she had been sleeping for quite some time now.
[Luis, tell Dani that I will be the one to attend to my wife. Just leave us some food by the door and I will get it,] Nikolai firmly instructed one of his shadow knights. [No one is to disturb us. We’re having our honeymoon starting today, and if there’s anything important, then inform me.]
Nikolai waited for his orders to pass, and as soon as Mineah’s shadow maidens left the hallway, Nikolai got up and opened the door to get the trolley of meals inside their room. Looking at the time, they only had an hour before lunch. Maybe he should wake up his wife now so she could at least eat first and then rest again if she wanted to.
His mind made up, Nikolai walked back to bed after preparing Mineah’s food on the table. He sat on the edges, his eyes lovingly lingering on his wife. He saw her move, and he found himself breathing hard as he stared at her bare chest and legs. The sheet that had covered her modesty had fallen off a while ago, and such a sight was starting to tempt him yet again.
