Chapter 143: Get a Taste
At Rossi Clan Residence
"Is there any good news?" Eva all but demanded his son, Haman. The man was nothing but a disappointment. If not for her, her stupid son would only barely manage to hold onto his position as the Minister of Justice.
Haman annoyingly clicked his tongue as he threw out the body of a human who was barely breathing. Wiping the smudge of blood from the corner of his lips, he then sat on the chair opposite hers.
In her own seat, Eva let out a heavy sigh as she watched the two other humans trembling in their respective corners. "You’ve been taking illegal blood often, so often," she scolded. "I told you to control yourself and stay lay low for the time being!"
"That bastard Raul is so busy with his human though," Haman grumbled while he scratched his head, ignoring his mother’s scolding. "Until now, there’s been no response to the secret messages our group sent to him! How about we take that woman he’s obsessed with? Maybe that will actually get him to move."
Eva shook her head. Raul still had an important role to play as a pawn in the game they were playing. They shouldn’t act without thoroughly thinking things over.
"It’s always somehow one constant setback after another," Eva hissed. She thought she could extract some vital information and even use the cursed princess to their advantage. "For some reason, I always fail in hypnotizing and compelling that cursed princess!"
She didn’t even know why either. The first she tried, Nikolai’s raven showered her with poop. Then, the second and last attempt she tried was at the library hall. It was in a confined space,and no one could disturb them there, and yet she couldn’t even remember what happened and how she ended up sleeping alone in a different room in the library.
"Mother, don’t you feel that something’s off in the Queen? I don’t know what happened, but that one time she asked me for permission to visit Rosela..." Haman trailed off as he mulled over his words. "I don’t know what happened. All I remember is that I ended up giving her my approval."
