Chapter 445: Mountain Travel

Kim wasn't sure what Elwin's issue was of why he wanted them to vote on his idea, even though it had already been determined to essentially be Kim's idea as well, given his expectation of where they were in relation to the starting dungeon.

However, as long as it didn't escalate into something more than him demanding they vote on it, she couldn't think of any reason to address it. Especially when it was so easily resolved.

While she ruminated over that while they walked, Kim couldn't help but wonder if maybe she should have used her sword to make certain that this was the fastest way out of the mountains. As she knew the edge of mountains tended to fluctuate rather than end along a specific line.

Though, she couldn't think of what she could do about it now. Not since they'd already agreed on a direction. If she did try, she could imagine more opposition to it than she'd experienced so far, as she had pushed for this direction to begin with.

Besides, she could imagine that Elwin would use that as an excuse to resurrect his cause and push for it as well. Which would merely add to the headache Kim had been feeling since the middle of that debate.

With Sonya, even though they hadn't reached a place where she'd need to lift them either up or down, she'd taken to her wolf shape. Which Kim had to admit probably was better, since they couldn't always guarantee that she might have a place to take her clothing off in privacy before being able to change her shape.

Which Heather seemed to be happy about, as she was riding on Sonya's back now. With Elin right behind her, much to Kim's annoyance.

While she couldn't begrudge Elin from taking an easier way of travelling, she did wish that she was riding with her, but she couldn't think of a way to ask without making herself seem less capable of travelling on her own. Which she knew Elin likely didn't have that worry in her mind.

Travel was much like it had been on their way to the library. Slow but steady. The climbing of various slopes were a pain, though Kim figured that they'd eventually stop being so steep once they started to reach the foothills that should be close to the edge of the mountains.
