Chapter 169: Unpleasant Wake Up
Elmo was having a wonderful dream: He was at home having incredible luck on the latest must-have game that had been released. Not only was he dominating all the other players, but everything seemed so simple to him that he was having the time of hi life.
He was about to see how the main storyline ended when suddenly he was shaken awake. When he opened his eyes and saw Kim looking at him, he at first thought that he'd been pulled into a nightmare. Especially with how she was glaring at him.
"Get up, Elmo," Kim ordered him.
Elmo couldn't get his mouth to work, so he quickly scrambled to his feet, almost losing his balance and falling down in the process. He wasn't sure what this was about, only that he didn't think he wanted to see what would happen if he didn't do as Kim told him to do.
"Where is everyone?" Kim asked, drawing Elmo's attention to the fact that he had fallen asleep by the rear gate and aside from himself, Kim, and Jonas there wasn't anyone else around.
"Uhhh..." Elmo said, unsure what to say. He knew that Jonas had talked to someone last night, though the details were a little fuzzy. Then Elmo knew that he sat down and fell asleep. At that time, there was a large crowd spread out along the grass outside the city and rear gate to the grounds of the mansion that the party had been held at the night before.
"Never mind," Kim snapped. "I'll find them myself."
Elmo watched her as she stalked off, clearly in a bad mood, but he hadn't a clue as to why. Not that he had an easy time telling when she was in a good mood. Most of the time Elmo couldn't help but consider her into be in a bad modd at best.
Elmo just sighed as he replayed what he could remember of the night before. About the running and the fighting, and the incredible weariness. Elmo glanced at Jonas sleeping soundly. He wished he could still be asleep right then. Even with the morning sunlight shining directly on them.
It might have been only a matter of time before the sunlight woke them up, but it would have been less of a shock than to have Kim wake him up like she had. He briefly wondered if she'd shortened his life by any amount with the scare he'd gotten from her glaring at him being the first thing he saw when he opened his eyes.
After such a perfect dream too, he mused.
