Chapter 528: Sasuke Who Wants Revenge
Danzo's proposal seemed reasonable.
However, Kakashi was more cautious and immediately smelled a conspiracy. He quickly retorted,
"Danzo-sama, this won't be easy, will it? Reportedly, Sasuke captured the Raikage's younger brother, the Hachibi Jinchuriki. Even if Konoha releases Sasuke, Kumogakure won't let it go."
"Kakashi, call me Hokage-sama."
"My apologies. Sorry, Hokage-sama!"
Danzo nodded in satisfaction, then continued, "Kumogakure's orders are none of Konoha's business, but I can change Konoha's wanted poster to capture alive."
"As long as you, or any other Konoha ninja, manage to capture Sasuke alive and bring him back to the village, I guarantee his life will be safe."
"Kumogakure won't be able to take him from Konoha later. I am not as weak as the Third Hokage. As the Hokage, I have the authority for that!"
This answer left Kakashi unable to find any loopholes.
After all, as long as Sasuke was brought back to Konoha, his life or death would be beyond Kumogakure's interference.
And as the current Hokage, Danzo did have the right to grant Sasuke amnesty, at least saving his life.
