Chapter 374: Mito Pressures for Marriage
It had not even been a month, and the wedding of the Uchiha Clan Head was already upon Konoha.
This was the day!
The Uchiha Clan was adorned with lanterns and streamers, exuding a vibrant and festive atmosphere. Early in the morning, Uchiha Clan members could be seen rushing about for the wedding, while guests arrived to offer their congratulations. The clan grounds were abuzz with activity.
Many of Konoha's senior officials and Clan Heads were present for the occasion. Even Tadashi Hyūga had brought his sons, Hiashi and Hizashi, to extend their congratulations to the newlyweds, Fugaku and Mikoto.
Since Tsunade's rise to power, Tadashi had recognized that the Uchiha's ascent was unstoppable. Wisely, he had chosen to ease relations with the Uchiha, and Fugaku had passively accepted the Hyūga Clan's overtures.
Although the current relationship between the two clans was far from brotherly, at least the days of open or hidden struggles were behind them.
The wedding officially began at the appointed hour at Fugaku's mansion. Mikoto, dressed in a pure white wedding gown and adorned with exquisite makeup, was breathtakingly beautiful. Fugaku, on the other hand, wore a permanent smile on his face, but it did little to improve his appearance. Standing together, the two were like a flower stuck in cow dung. But Mikoto didn't care—she liked him, and that was enough.
Kawakaze not only presented Fugaku with a generous red envelope but was also invited to serve as the witness. At first, he had tried to refuse, claiming he wasn't respected enough for the role. However, Fugaku's enthusiasm was impossible to resist.
With his reputation as the God of Shinobi and his status as the Hokage's husband, Kawakaze was well-known throughout Konoha. Having him as the witness was an honor for both Fugaku and Mikoto. After a series of exaggerated compliments, Kawakaze found himself overwhelmed and unable to come up with further excuses. He reluctantly agreed and delivered his best wishes to the couple before all the assembled guests.
Several unmarried young couples in the audience looked at the stage with envy in their eyes. Among them were Minato and Nawaki.
Kushina, Mikoto's best friend, was moved to tears. She clung to Minato's arm, wiping her tears on his shoulder, while Minato gently stroked her red hair, conveying his thoughts without words. Nearby, Misaki cast a shy glance at Nawaki, and when their eyes met, both blushed.
