Chapter 18: Something Unexpected
'Oh, no! I accidentally said my inner thoughts out loud.'
She covered her mouth and looked at him.
'I need to make an excuse.'
She forced her brain to make an excuse immediately.
"I mean, I suddenly wanted to know about your parents since I did not see them when I saw you in your town." She was relieved when she found a good excuse.
"My parents? Well, it's becau-" before he had finished his words, memory fragments flashed past like projections on slideshow in his head.
From the memory fragments, he found out that his predecessor had never met his mother and he had no memory of her either.
He only lived with his late father since he was little.
Whenever he asked his late father about his mother, his father only said his mother had passed away and told him to stop asking questions immediately.
It was as if something bad had happened to them, or they had a big fight when he was still a baby.
"I don't know who my mother is, but my father passed away last year." He said his father had a serious illness since he was little. "What about your parents? Are they in your organization too?"
