Muyang sprung into action immediately like a superhero summoned from from far beyond the universe to save the a world from the attack of a villain. He knocked over a tray of pancakes and slipped and fell. But he did not stop. He got back up and ran towards Mei Mei to save her from whatever danger she had encountered.

That was the reaction of everyone in the dining room, including Smarty pants, the artificial cat.
Chi Lian’s mouth was even gaping. The distance between them and Mei Mei was not even that great. Did her husband have to run and step on things as if he was crossing oceans to get to their daughter.
The older Jun’s were wondering how long it had been since they last saw a scene of Muyang almost ending the entire world for the sake of his daughter. They often joked that Mei Mei would be the beginning of his villain story...if he became a villain.
Of course, Chi Lian always argued that it would be her. But sadly, nobody agreed with her.
