Chapter 284: Royal residents.
To hide the jittery feeling she was experiencing inside, Mei Mei stood up abruptly and rushed out of the room. Only when she reached the kitchen did she stop.
Mingzhu was very confused about why her mother was running. She peeked upstairs and looked in the direction of the kitchen.
"Grandma Feng, why is mommy running?" she asked curiously.
Madam Feng shrugged. "I don’t know baby, maybe she saw a rat."
Mingzhu squealed and latched onto madam Feng’s thighs. The general could fight everything but she could not stand the sight of rats.
Madam Feng carried her granddaughter in her arms and walked her to the kitchen. She turned around once to peek at the the full grown adult male human that was coming down the downstairs. It was her son: the rat that made Meilin blush.
Long Wen followed them to the kitchen to get some cheese cake. After which, she planned to sit in the swings and read her book. The Empress Mother had decided to have the two princesses live with Mei Mei temporarily.
As for why, neither Mei Mei nor the girls could explain.
Long Shuang was in the living room, watching the first unreleased episode of Whiskers 10. She had been picked up from the temple the day before and given the sad news. She had cried, slept and cried again. When she was not eating or watching television, she was crying.
It was amazing that she was not throwing exaggerated tantrums like she used to do. Living in the royal temple had created some changes in her.
