Chapter 131: A NEW DAUGHTER IN LAW
Garth had hurried out of the estate at Dawn over to the Blackwood’s residence after their letter last night. She wanted to confirm things for herself and make sure she wasn’t reading lies herself.
She had been too ashamed of visiting, especially since she failed to make Claudia marry Alanis, but why did they suddenly want her useless son?
Garth hadn’t slept through the night thinking of these. George was going to get everything Alanis rejected, meaning, her life would be a lot easier, and not only would George take over the Hamilton’s co-operations, he would have the Blackwood’s backing.
If Alanis thinks marrying the Blackwood’s first daughter is going to do him any good, then he is mistaken because Claudia is the one inheriting everything her father worked so hard for. Harlow is only a useless girl, who is just after the Hamilton’s money.
"Elisa dear." Garth greeted the moment she saw the woman walk down the stairs. Even if was only a mistress, Elisa is every woman’s dream. Marrying the richest man in the country was not the only brag she had, but her daughter was also a successful young lady. Even if was bad at love, to the people, Claudia was more responsible than the real heiress.
Many had even forgotten Harlow was the legitimate daughter of the family.
"Oh Garth, welcome." Elisa greeted. Yesterday had been the worst day of her life but she couldn’t let anyone know about this. Elisa has tried to do everything in her power to give her daughter a good public image, if whatever had happened gotten to the news, she would never be able to change the public’s perception about her daughter anymore.
"I saw your letter." Garth caught to the chase. She wasn’t here to beat around the bush, she wanted to know what was going on.
"Please come join us for breakfast, Claudia really wants to meet you again," Elisa asked with a smile.
