"W...What are you talking about?" Logan stammered, intimidated by Alex’s dark glare. Alex’s voice turned cold
"I’ve never known you to stammer, Logan." His menacing raised brows made Logan nervous.
All attention was not focused on him, including that of the woman beside him. She was unsure of the situation, but remained silent as per the earlier warning when she flirted with Alex.
Logan, feeling trapped by Alex’s demeanor, tried to deflect by bursting into laughter.
"How could your wife have been drugged? Weren’t you supposed to be watching over her? Didn’t you say she was working late?" He kept throwing one question after the other in the bid to buy time the moment Alex began to answer them.
However, it only fueled Alex’s suspicions, knowing better the young brother he watched grow and even took care of.
Logan became this stubborn after Alex killed their father but Logan was too young to understand the details of the matter by them.
Alex was six years older than him, having seen things Logan hadn’t.
"I lied before to gauge the situation with the sedatives. It would influence my decision on who was involved," Alex explained, Logan was worried about Mia.
He was conflicted because Mia had done this to Joanna to prevent her from attending the event, as Logan had wanted.
"I got a message from my wife’s driver asking for help because he felt strange after lunch. When I arrived at the office, everyone, including Mia, was asleep."
