Chapter 8: A Pleasant Surprise
In the midst of her confusion, Duan Yixin suddenly felt another severe headache. Feeling dizzy, she closed her eyes hard and groaned.
'Could there be a hidden disease in this body? It wouldn't be funny if I died of illness after only one day in this world.'
When she thought that there was something wrong with this body, the severe headache disappeared as if it had never appeared before. Duan Yixin opened her eyes again in confusion and saw a huge warehouse in front of her.
Looking at the warehouse, she felt a sense of familiarity. She thought for a moment and approached the box, only to find that she couldn't get close no matter how long she walked. Confused by what was happening, she blinked and the warehouse disappeared.
Looking at the dilapidated thatched house in front of her, she frowned and rubbed her forehead in confusion, "I should still be in the backyard. How did I end up in the front yard? Do I walk from the backyard to the front yard instead of approaching the warehouse?"
Just as she was thinking about the huge warehouse, she saw the warehouse appear in front of her again. This time, instead of approaching the warehouse, she thought, 'What should I do if I want to get closer to the warehouse?'
Thinking of this, she felt herself getting closer to the warehouse. At this point, Duan Yixin discovered that what was in front of the warehouse was not her body but her mind. She couldn't believe that such an illogical thing would happen to her. After calming down, Duan Yixin tried to use her mind to get into the warehouse and then looked around the inside.
After a period of wandering around, she found that the structure of the warehouse and everything inside seemed familiar. Her eyes suddenly widened in surprise when she saw the National Researcher Institute's emblem on each box.
"Aren't these boxes supplies prepared by the government and stored in the warehouse created inside the Liquid Chip?"
She thought for a moment and said in disbelief, "Could it be that Liquid Chip is the reason why I took over this body?"
Staring at the emblem thoughtfully, Duan Yixin made many guesses, but the only thing she could be sure of was that the Liquid Chip had been successfully integrated with her mind. Unfortunately, while the warehouse exists, another function of the Liquid Chip is lost. As for how she came to this world and took over this body, she had no idea.
Unable to find an answer, she decides to put this matter behind her mind for now. She went to the kitchen, boil a pot of water, and then took headache medicine. After that, she put the remaining headache medicine back into the warehouse with her mind.
