Chapter 353: HARNESSING THE MOUNTAIN POWER
COMMANDER ABRAM’S POV
We settled in Sitka and I spent my days in the mountains practicing what Uncle Cadman and the mountain god. I was frustrated because by the end of the day, I was not able to move the mountain entrance and I became frustrated.
"I GIVE UP!" I shouted and collapsed onto the mountain river bed and the water splashed around me. I raised my head when I heard slow, sarcastic claps from back behind a tree. Aspen stepped out slowly and leaned against that tree, smirking. "Wow. That was incredible. An inspiration and that’s what you are Commander. I want to learn from you."
"Well, you can’t blame me," I snickered. "I’ve been trying to master this stupid magic for two days and I have no results. I can’t make it do anything I want even though I am a hybrid.
Aspen nodded and then came over to me and squatted down in front of me. "That’s because you can’t make magic if you don’t believe in it, you have to be convinced."
I looked at him as if he had grown a second head. "What do you mean Aspen?"
"Here," he offered his hand, "I’ll help you. Uncle Cadman to give me tips on how to train me on how to assist you."
"Don’t you have work to do at home? The house we bought has a lot of work on the interior design." I glared at him.
He winked at me and chuckled. "No. Now do you want help or not?"
I considered my options but slowly took his hand, which he used to help me to my feet. "Fine. Where do we start?."
"At the beginning. Concentrate on the magic. Pay attention to where it is. Feel it inside of you and use the power of the mountain to guide you. You are already merged with the mountain power so why is it difficult for you when it comes to the river? It is part of the mountain, right? You just need to reach out to your inner magic, concentrate, and draw it out"
