Chapter 239: BURNING NEED
By the time I got to bed, it was three am. I tossed and turned until I fell asleep close to dawn. Ma banged my bedroom door and yelled " How dare you sleep till midday?"
My feet hit the floor as I sat on the bed, and looked at the clock on the bedside table and cursed.
" Shit! Am late" I growled more to myself as I hit the shower and hurriedly dressed, ensuring to look my best since I was going to meet my mates. By the time I went downstairs, Ma and Grandma had already left the breakfast table. I sat and gobbled down the plate of food left and then asked Mama for the car keys.
" Where are you headed off looking so handsome?" Mama demanded.
" I have a meeting at the Due Corporation before I head out to the Pack offices. I wanted to finalize the transfer of the land. I was proposing that even though the land is transferred to the pack, I wish that you remain the guardian of the land."
" No need. I trust Lucian and Conri to do right by the lands. I am no longer interested in anything that touches on your father. I want to focus on your grandmother and settle her into a comfortable life as soon as possible"
"Okay Mama" I walked over and pressed a kiss on her forehead bid her farewell and left the house.
Driving through the wet roads, the sound of the afternoon rain hit my windows and I welcomed how calm it felt and yet I could feel that Storm my wolf was anxious.
" What is it ?" I send the words through our mind link
" I am worried about the little wolf, " Storm said.
" So am I. But I want to trust fate once more. He brought Toten to us last night and I assume that it will be well today. " I answered with reassurance.
