CEO'S ROGUE ALPHA

Chapter 24: A RAY OF HOPE

CONRI’S POV

A life of solitude hardened my heart for the past fifteen years of being exiled. The woods became my solace of peace, and it calmed my body. My wolf was free to run, and my powers grew every year. For the first years in the woods, I worked to rebuild the rotten cabin up to the standard warm cabin. It kept me busy for six months as I worked to distract myself from the pain in my heart. Old man Benjamin was daring enough to offer me all the supplies that I needed. Hence, I picked them up at the foot of the mountain every week, as agreed.

Then I discovered the Tizheruk Snake Serpent King.

Dolf, my Alpha wolf, had sensed him a mile away, and we shifted and evaded it because looking into his eyes, one got petrified, forgetting everything that happened a few hours before.

A week later, I found it, at its near death by the riverbank after unknown persons spilled toxic waste. I raced back to the cabin, got a sack, rushed back to the river bank, and put it in the sack. I dragged it to the other side of the river, deep in the cave mountain, and put the Tizheruk it in the clean water.

I sat and waited for an hour, watched it come alive, and I closed my eyes, afraid of being petrified by it.

"Calm down Alpha, I have no interest in petrifying my savior," it hissed.

My eyes snapped open, and I stared at it in shock. "You can speak?"

It continued to roll into the water and said, "Of course. Do you have any food in your cabin?"
