Chapter 104: Battle Maniac Hero
Freya’s POV:
I, Freya von Flamestone, had never imagined that my path toward strength would lead me into the complicated web of emotions and conflicts I now found myself in. The decision to train under Cain von Flamemore The Hellfire Berserker, a man renowned for his unparalleled mastery of the Flamemore Swordsmanship, was made with one purpose in mind: to grow strong enough to stand by the side of Naoki-dono, the one I cherished.
In the beginning, all I sought was power. I desired the strength to protect myself and others, and, most importantly, the strength to stand beside Naoki-dono when the time came. But fate, it seemed, had a different plan. My training with Cain took an unexpected turn when he declared me his fiancée, making me the prize of a challenge against Naoki-dono—a duel to determine my fate.
This sudden twist in events was nothing like I had envisioned. I had come here to improve, to learn, to become strong enough for Naoki-dono, but instead, I found myself caught in a cruel game that threatened to tear us apart.
The situation seemed hopeless, but Naoki-dono didn’t abandon me. He stood firm against Cain, vowing to rescue me, to free me from this entanglement. His words became my beacon, guiding me through the darkness. I held onto them tightly, determined to grow stronger, believing that, one day, he would indeed free me. By then, I would not be the fragile woman I once was but a powerful warrior ready to stand beside him in battle.
I was resolved to fight—not just for my freedom, but for my future with Naoki-dono. The strength I sought was not only physical but emotional, too. I wanted to become a woman capable of expressing her true feelings, without fear, without restraint.
...
Five months of grueling training under Cain had yielded some results. I had mastered five of the eight forms of Flamemore Swordsmanship. Each form was a testament to Cain’s mastery and to the power that I had begun to wield.
My combat skills had grown significantly, and while my progress wasn’t complete, it was enough to see how much I had changed. Perhaps the most notable difference was how the [Magic Sword Release] skill I had honed over the years complemented Flamemore Swordsmanship. Infusing my sword with flame allowed me to make full use of the techniques, amplifying their power and precision.
So far, I had mastered several formidable techniques:
Ember Fang: A blazing slash, so fast and fierce it sliced through the air, leaving a trail of burning embers in its wake. The target was ignited in an instant, reduced to ash before they could even react.
