Chapter 103: The Beginning of Nightmares
I shouted at my team to hurry up and move to the next floor. Though they all seemed confused, they still followed me without question.
Julius caught up with me and asked, "What’s going on, Naoki? This dungeon feels strange!"
Lyra and Amelia voiced their concerns as well.
"Are you okay, Naoki-sama?"
"What happened, Naoki?"
"I used [Eclipse Eyes] and saw that all the entrances on the previous floors we passed have been destroyed. There’s also a powerful barrier preventing the professors from entering this floor and beyond, all the way to the boss room," I explained hurriedly.
"Then... does that mean we’re trapped here?" Julius looked shocked.
"That’s right. We have to defeat the dungeon boss as soon as possible. I suspect this is either because the boss is about to trigger a dungeon break or because demons are interfering," I shared my current analysis. I was worried that the demons had begun their movements inside the dungeon, just as Arsene had warned.
"A dungeon break...?" Lyra looked speechless.
"Demons inside the dungeon... that does seem possible," Amelia muttered, her expression showing understanding. She, too, had received information from Arsene.
"Exactly. That’s why we need to inform the others that we’ll be increasing our pace to descend further. If my assumption is correct, the abnormalities in this dungeon might actually allow us to reach the boss room faster," I said.
