Happy Little Farmer

Chapter 86 Old Acquaintance in the Alley

Yang Fan still politely declined Old Zhou’s enthusiastic attempt to keep him from leaving.

Even though what had just happened with Zhu Shanshan was involuntary, he had still, after all, cuckolded Old Zhou with a brightly colored cap.

At this time, even if Yang Fan had been more thick-skinned, he would still have felt uncomfortable sitting down and having a meal with Old Zhou.

However, Zhu Shanshan seemed to have gone somewhere else; she hadn’t returned by the time Yang Fan left.

After biking away from the Herb Market, just as Yang Fan was rounding out from the small gate of the market, he heard a sharp cry for help, as well as the swearing of several men.

Yang Fan hadn’t intended to meddle, but suddenly he heard someone shouting about making the girl pay off her debts with her body and selling her, which made him stop his bike.

If it had been just a general quarrel, he wouldn’t have felt the need to intervene, but the words those men were shouting were truly offensive, and Yang Fan would have felt uneasy if he pretended to know nothing about it.

He stopped his bike, pulled up the handbrake, and then walked toward the source of the noise.

The Herb Market had two back entrances; this one backed onto a shanty area, where residents were mixed and disorderly, and the alleys twisted and turned like a labyrinth. For those unfamiliar, it would be hard to know where to exit once inside.

Although Yang Fan often visited the Herb Market, he had never been into this area.

Following the sounds, he had just turned into an alley when he saw three grown men cornering a girl who looked like a student from front and back, with one of them trying to pull off the girl’s clothes, apparently eager to see what curves lay underneath.
