Chapter 440: Taking the offensive (III)
The hive mind was taken aback by the pincer attack being performed by the human forces. A small but extremely powerful force was wiping out thousands of Leviathans on the horizontal section of the L-shaped path, and now a massive force was attacking the rear on the vertical section of the path. No matter how you looked at it, this was a disastrous situation for the Leviathan swarm. But the hive mind was not one to show hesitation; the eyes of the Leviathans glowed with a fierce light as the Elite Units marched forward.
Despite the dire circumstances, the hive mind calculated swiftly. While the forces coming from the rear were much more massive, the individual powers of those soldiers were not a real threat to the Elite Units. If the Elite Units used all their power, they could crush the human charge, making it very easy for the rest of the Leviathans to swarm the humans and kill all of them.
"BOOOMMM!" An explosion echoed across the battlefield as the Elite Units blasted toward the human forces. Thirty Peak High Champion warriors surged forward with overwhelming force, their massive forms cutting through the ranks with frightening speed.
Although the Elite Units were only thirty in number and the humans were thousands, the human forces could not help but feel a massive pressure as those colossal dark monsters flashed toward them. The sheer aura of the Elite Units was oppressive, and none of the soldiers felt confident in resisting their charge. The ground trembled beneath the Leviathans’ approach.
Luckily, the human forces had monsters of their own!
As the Elite Units closed the distance, less than two hundred meters away from the human forces, thirty-three juggernauts appeared. They were covered completely in white armor, their surfaces gleaming even amidst the chaos of battle. Each wielded a massive bastard sword that seemed almost too large to be practical, yet they handled them with ease.
With a burst of speed that was simply shocking, the Lords of Horror flashed forward to meet the Elite Units. Their movements were a blur, and in an instant, they clashed with the Leviathan elites with thunderous might. The impact of their collision sent shockwaves rippling across the battlefield!
Hatred and loathing appeared in the eyes of the Elite Units as their claws and fists clashed with the swords of the Lords of Horror. Sparks flew as metal met chitin, and the sounds of their battle drowned out all else. The Elite Units, accustomed to overwhelming their foes, found themselves matched in strength and skill.
On the other hand, Ned and the rest of the Lords of Horror showed pure focus in their eyes. Their minds were honed to a state of absolute battle awareness at all times, so there were no emotions burning in their minds as they carried on with their task. Every movement was precise, every strike calculated.
