Beyond the Apocalypse

Chapter 439: Taking the offensive (II)

Immediately, the hive mind attempted to generate defensive maneuvers, but the flaming comet infused with lightning had already begun its dive from the sky, breaking the barrier of sound repeatedly as it fell with increasing momentum. Sonic booms reverberated across the landscape, echoing off the canyon walls and the mountain range that flanked the massive swarm of Leviathans.

The only thing the hive mind could do was calculate the epicenter of the impending crash and mobilize the Leviathans as fast as possible away from the area.

The flaming comet descended with blinding speed, its fiery tail scorching the sky. The heat intensified, and a brilliant light enveloped the area as it collided with the center of the swarm. A cataclysmic explosion erupted upon impact. The initial blast obliterated more than seventy thousand Leviathans instantly; their forms disintegrated in a heartbeat. A towering pillar of fire shot upward, reaching toward the heavens and casting an eerie glow over the battlefield.

The flaming shockwave spread in all directions, a devastating force that sent more than one hundred and fifty thousand Leviathans flying through the air. The shockwaves rippled outward, causing the ground to quake violently. Many Leviathans were hurled into the depths of the canyon, their shrieks echoing as they plummeted into the abyss. Others were slammed against the mountain walls, their exoskeletons shattering upon impact, bodies crushed by the unforgiving stone.

All in all, the attack took the lives of more than one hundred and seventy thousand Leviathans. And that was just the beginning.

A thunderous roar echoed in the sky the next second. All the Leviathans looked upward to see a massive three-hundred-meter snake descending upon them. Its flesh was forged of fire and lightning, scales shimmering with incandescent hues of crimson and electric blue. The creature’s massive maw opened wide, unleashing a torrent of lightning-infused fire that scorched thousands of Leviathans in its path. The inferno incinerated drones and hybrids alike, leaving nothing but ash in its wake.

In the next moment, twenty-five figures leaped from the serpent’s back and landed among the swarm. One of them was a colossal giant more than twenty meters tall. Wielding a massive halberd, he swung with immense power, crushing hundreds of drones with every single move. Each strike sent shockwaves through the ground, toppling Leviathans and carving a path of destruction.

Around him were nineteen figures, all bursting with bloodline forces. Their auras flared with elemental energies, unleashing devastating strikes that no Leviathan could endure. Blades flashed, and spells erupted as they cut through the swarm, even the insect-humanoid hybrids falling before their might.

Approximately three hundred meters from the golden giant and bloodline warriors, five individuals worked in perfect harmony. Three unleashed torrents of metallic lightning tornadoes that tore through the enemy ranks. Dozens of massive spheres of magma erupted from the ground, engulfing Leviathans in molten fury. Hundreds of arrows rained down from above, each finding its mark with lethal precision.
