Chapter 78: Fighting 5 Champions (II)
Vlad’s eyes glowed with ferocity as he realized how strong his body had become, easily overpowering a Champion demon. He was still in the Mortal Tier, yet his Depravita Racial Heritage, Bloodline Ability, and skills allowed him to dominate those in the next Tier.
The feeling of power did not make Vlad lose focus, and he turned to the side as another demon flashed toward him.
The approaching Champion was a Demon Spider. As his name suggested, the demon was a gargantuan spider with a hard, shell-like exoskeleton. The protective shell covering his legs ended in sharp spikes, perfect for impalements.
Vlad’s eyes narrowed as he saw the sharp spider legs aiming at him. He immediately flashed back, dodging and then charging back into the fray, attacking the Demon Spider. His electrified swords struck the side of the Champion demon, leaving a deep cut.
Blood spurted from the Demon Spider, and he immediately retreated in agony as he attempted to block the barrage of sword strikes from Vlad. Fortunately for the Champion demon, the Golden Demon Lizard joined the fray, turning the conflict into a three-sided battle.
Vlad only smiled as the lightning arcs around his body grew more potent, and he dodged the claws of the Golden Demon Lizard before slashing with his sword and leaving a deep cut, only to block the Demon Spider’s spiked legs.
The two demon Champions attacked with brutality and ferocity, but at most, they could only keep Vlad at bay, showing the immense difference in their powers.
The other three demonic Champions were a Demonic Hyena, a Spiked Gorilla, and a Fire Bear. They saw that the human was pushing their companions. If they joined the fray, overcoming the human and forcing him to escape would be easy, but that would mean the end for the demonic beasts.
Rage and killing intent appeared in the three demonic Champions as they marched forward, ready to break the warriors’ shield formation and lay havoc on the pikemen who were butchering the demonic beasts.
Vlad’s eyes narrowed as he saw this, knowing that ordinary soldiers could not endure the onslaught of monsters as powerful as tanks. However, he did not despair and instead focused his killing intent only on the two: the Golden Lizard and the Demon Spider.
The demon Champions marched with pure rage and killing intent, their speed rising higher and higher as they adapted to the mud. Soon, they reached soldiers and saw the ground full of demonic beast corpses. The trio’s eyes glowed with killing intent as they were ready to break the shield formation and start a massacre.
Seeing such massive monsters marching toward them, full of killing intent, would have shattered the will of ordinary people, but their rage allowed them to stay resolute. Besides, they knew they were not alone.
